Our Philosphy

At Waga Waga Den, we are driven by a minimal-waste philosophy that is inspired by the Japanese philosophy of “mottainai”.

Loosely translated as “wasteful”, it is today an expression of appreciation for the gifts of nature — and the sincere conduct of other people.

We created Waga Waga Den to be a joyous “laboratory” for “less than good ingredients” that would otherwise be discarded.

Combining food science and intuition, we explore creative ways of reducing food wastage by creating picturesque and tantalising food that is a feast for your senses.
